Also, ich weiß nicht. Ich liebe ja die Peter Grant-Serie, aber irgendwas stimmt mit diesem Teil der Reihe nicht.
Es fängt schon damit an, dass dieser fünfte Teil NICHT in London spielt. Damit fällt sozusagen eine Hauptfigur weg, denn England’s Hauptstadt gehört mit zum Herzen der Reihe. Aaronovitch könnte nun damit kokettieren. Im Klappentext heißt es ja auch ‚you can’t take the London out of the copper‘. Peter bewegt sich auch beharrlich nach Londoner Constable-Manier durch den Fall, aber sein Clash mit dem Landleben führt nicht zu der Komik oder den Grant’schen Verzweiflungsanfällen, wie ich sie erwartet hatte.
